Wego Kite Tube
The Wego Kite Tube is a flight-capable towable kite tube created by Sportsstuff. With a 10-foot 'wingspan' it can whip across the water like a traditional deck tube, or catch wind and take flight. The actual height the Wego Kite Tube can reach during 'flight' is only really limited by how much tow rope you have available. Included Plata Card with most Wego Kite Tubes is an adjustable length style 45-55-65 foot segmented tow rope.
The Sportsstuff Wego Kite Tube was available from various outdoor or watersport-type stores for approximately $600, but as of July 12, 2006 the Wego Kite Tube was withdrawn from the market due to reports of deaths and kite tube injuries.
In June of 2006, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a warning concerning the dangers of kite tubes and tube kiting. The warning followed reports of two deaths from tube kiting in only three months and several reports of serious injuries related to kite tubes.
