Sportsstuff Wego Kite Tube Recall

The safety recall letter below was issued by Leroy Peterson, the Chief Executive Officer of Sportsstuff, in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) following reports of serious kite tube injuries and deaths:

Important Safety Recall

Wego Kite Tubes (Letter "B")

Our records indicate that, during 2005-2006, you purchased a Sportsstuff Wego Kite Tube. In recent weeks, Sportsstuff has received reports that persons have been seriously injured or died while using these kite tubes. To date, Sportsstuff has been unable to determine the causes of these incidents. While Sportsstuff does not believe that the products are defective or unreasonably dangerous, in an abundance of caution, Sportsstuff is cooperating with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to withdraw the kite tubes from the market and to undertake a voluntary recall to replace those in the possession of consumers with products of comparable value.

We therefore request that you stop using your kite tube and contact us at 1-866-831-5524 for instructions how to obtain the replacement product(s).

Thank you for helping us in this important safety matter. We regret any inconvenience this may cause you.

Sincerely yours,

Leroy Peterson
Chief Executive Officer

Attorney's Note!!

If you or a loved one have been injured of killed on a Sportsstuff Wego Kite Tube, then the actual kite tube, box, instructions, DVD and sales receipt (if available) should be kept and preserved as evidence for a product liability case. Do not send these items back to the manufacturer without having spoken to a lawyer or attorney about a potential lawsuit. In cases that our firms handle, we routinely reimburse the owner with the price of the kite tube and store the evidence in our warehouse throughout the duration of the kite tube litigation.
